From 28th March to 1st April 2013, ART PARIS ART FAIR brings together 144 galleries from 20 countries under the majestic glass roof of the Grand Palais. The fair presents modern and contemporary art and is confirming its identity as the art event that focusses on the art scenes of the East (Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia). Building on the success of the 2012 edition, Art Paris Art Fair confirms its commitment to promote the art scenes of Europe and invites Russia as its honour guest.

The Russian platform gets together 10 galeries and with around 90 artists also represented in the general sector, Art Paris Art Fair will be an opportunity to discover or rediscover Russian art from the 1930s to the most contemporary production. This edition also keeps on exploring the relationship and cross-over between contemporary art and design with the Artdesign Platform. 2013 edition inaugurates the new sector “Promises” supporting 12 young galleries established for five years or less.

According to the focus of this year‘s Art Paris Art Fair EIKON#81 offers all readers an extensive article on Russian-born artist Anastasia Khoroshilova. In her series „Gestern. (Eine Begegnung mit Familie D.)“ (“Yesterday. (An Encounter with Family D.)”) presented in this issue Khoroshilova travels to rural areas in Central Asia to witness and document lifes of migrants.
