With the series “Ostalgia”, currently on show at Architekturzentrum Wien, the Rumanian-Spanish artist Simona Rota draws up a typology of architectural demonstrations of power in the former Soviet republics and their successor states. We are looking forward to offer all photography collectors an outstanding work of this noteworthy series in a limited edition. |

In the frame of Eyes on – Month of Photography Vienna, the European Society for the History of Photography (ESHPh) and MUSA invite to a one-day photography symposium: The consequences of the “digital turn” (internet, virtual reality, social platforms, etc.) for the concept of the material in photographic image systems and how the specific structures, mechanisms and intentions of materiality-immateriality will be articulated in photographs in future is the subject of this congress. The transdisciplinary event, in which science will be confronted with photographic practice and statements, is aimed at all with a special interest in contemporary photography, especially theoreticians, photo historians, artists, and scholars in the cultural and social sciences.
