Ceremony EIKON Award (45+), Magazine Launch EIKON #100

As part of the Vienna Art Week 2017 we gladly invite you to the presentation of the 100th issue of EIKON as well as to the ceremony of the EIKON Award (45+) at the KUNST HAUS WIEN.

The special issue of EIKON is dedicated to the EIKON Award (45+), which was announced this summer and received 273 applications from 23 European countries. Under the patronage of the media art and performance pioneer VALIE EXPORT, the award (containing a prize money of 5,000 EUR), was directed at women photographers and media artists aged 45 and over. The aim of the award is not only to survey the current conditions in women’s art production, but also to draw attention to and sensitize a broad public for the (biographically caused) delays in artistic development and practice of both late entrants and returning artists. In EIKON #100 the winners, chosen by the jury members Jürgen Klauke, Margot Pilz and Æsa Sigurjónsdóttir, will be featured comprehensively.
