Die 27. Ausgabe fordert uns dazu auf, unsere Umgebung durch die fotografischen Recherchen von 20 Schweizer und internationalen KünstlerInnen und Künstlerkollektiven neu zu betrachten. Sie beobachten den Alltag, das Banale und Gewöhnliche vor Ort und berichten scharfsinnig und unerbittlich darüber.  

Diese Ausgabe, bei der die Herausforderungen rund um die fotografische Aktualität hervorgehoben werden, bestätigt die Fähigkeit des Festivals, Synergien zu schaffen. Erstmalige Kooperationen mit dem Kunstzentrum GwinZegal, der Biennale de la Photographie de Mulhouse, dem Kunstmuseum Le Locle, Gowen Contemporary, dem prix near., dem Stadtarchiv und der Residenz au Lac werden es Ihnen ermöglichen, durch zahlreiche Betrachtungs- und Erzählweisen in das Thema einzutauchen. Insgesamt 23 Ausstellungen (9 Weltpremieren und 5 Schweizer Premieren) werden in Form eines fotografischen Rundgangs präsentiert, der an 11 Orte der Stadt Biel führt darunter Nebia, wo auch eine Konzert-Performance stattfinden und erstmals ebenfalls eine Ausstellung gezeigt werden wird. Im Photoforum und im espace libre wird eine originelle Ausstellung präsentiert, die preisgekrönten Bilder des SNF-Wettbewerbs für wissenschaftliche Bilder hinterfragen die Beziehungen zwischen der Welt des Bildes und jener der Wissenschaft und die 2. Fachklasse Grafik der Schule für Gestaltung Bern und Biel wird unerwartete Ansichten zur Realität um uns herum ausstellen.   

Ausserdem werden interdisziplinäre Begegnungen und Veranstaltungen die Reflexionen aus dem Rundgang durch die Ausstellungen auf hochqualifizierte und gesellige Weise auf andere Bereiche wie Musik, Kino und Tanz ausweiten. Dies geschieht dank der Zusammenarbeit mit zahlreichen Partnern, unter anderen das Tanzfest anlässlich seines 20-jährigen Jubiläums. Der Veranstaltungskalender ist online verfügbar. In photographic explorations by 20 Swiss and international artists and collectives that look closely at the everyday life, the banal and the ordinary around us and report on it with acuity and rigour, the 27th edition of the festival invites us to take a second look at the world around us. 

This year’s edition, organized so as to shed light on the issues that bear closely on current photography, also showcases the festival’s ability to create synergies. New collaborations with the GwinZegal Art Center, the Biennale de la Photographie de Mulhouse, the Musée des Beaux-Arts Le Locle, Gowen Contemporary, the near. prize, the Biel/Bienne Municipal Archives and the Residenz au Lac will give the public opportunities to immerse itself in this year’s theme through multiple perspectives and stories. In total, 23 exhibitions, including 9 world premieres and 5 Swiss premieres, will be presented in the form of a photographic stroll through 11 venues in the city of Biel/Bienne. Nebia will be the stage for a concert performance, and it will also host an exhibition for the first time. The Photoforum and espace libre will present a new exhibition; while the winning images of the SNSF Scientific Image Competition will raise questions about the links between the world of photography and the scientific world; as well, the second-year class at the Ecole d’arts visuels Berne et Bienne/Schule für Gestaltung Bern und Biel will present unusual perspectives on the world around us. 

In addition, in a series of interdisciplinary talks and events presented in cooperation with our many partners, including the Fête de la Danse on its 20th anniversary, the reflections presented across the course of the exhibitions will be broadened in a precise but convivial way into other domains such as music, film and dance.
