Die Galerie Parrotta Contemporary Art freut sich, die zwei Einzelausstellungen „New York City – Ghosts and Flowers“ von Edgar Leciejewski und „The American Series I – XII“ von Oskar Schmidtzu präsentieren. Beide Ausstellungen beleuchten sehr aktuelle Themen unserer gesellschaftlichen Verfasstheit: Edgar Leciejewski verweist mit seinen Bildern auf Phänomene einer sich permanenten Grenzverschiebung zwischen Öffentlichkeit und Privatheit. Oskar Schmidt beschäftigt sich vor dem Hintergrund der gegenwärtigen Wirtschafts- und Finanzkrise mit Fotografien von Walker Evans. Jene stehen emblematisch für das Elend der Landbevölkerung während der Großen Depression in Amerika der 1930er Jahre. Galerie Parrotta Contemporary Art is pleased to announce the two solo exhibitions “New York City – Ghosts and Flowers“ by Edgar Leciejewski and „The American Series I – XII“ by Oskar Schmidt. Both exhibitions focus on highly relevant issues of our social constitution: Edgar Leciejewski points to phenomena of a constant shift of boundaries between public and private in his pictures. Oskar Schmidt, in light of the current economic and financial crisis, explores photographies by Walker Evans. Those stand emblematic for the misery of the rural population during the Great Depression in America in the 1930s.
