Marie-Jo Lafontaine's Lost Paradise series unfolds a magnificent sea of flowers, rich in color and light. The Cibachromes show extremely close-up image sections of flower arrangements in which sharpness and blur alternate in a confusing way, colors and shapes merge into one another.

Born in 1950, the photo and video artist and Documenta participant Marie-Jo Lafontaine is best known for her monumental video sculptures. But she also continues the ambivalent theme of beauty, passion and violence in her photographic works.
